Discovering new content

You can't analyze feedback you haven't connected. Kinn's discovery capability helps close that gap: it searches YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit for content about your product that isn't already connected, so you can find where you're being talked about and bring it in.

How it works​

Ask Kinn to look for new content about your product on one of the supported platforms:

  • "Find new YouTube videos about our game we haven't connected yet."
  • "Search Reddit for recent discussion of our app."
  • "What TikToks are out there about us that we're not tracking?"

Kinn runs a search scoped to your product and returns up to about ten results that you haven't already indexed — so you won't just see things you've connected before. For each result it shows enough to judge whether it's worth indexing (title or caption, author, date, and engagement where the platform provides it). When something looks relevant, ask Kinn to connect it and it'll start pulling in the conversation.

Platform differences​

  • YouTube — you can ask for results by relevance (the default) or by newest first.
  • Reddit — you can narrow to a recent window (past week, month, or year) when you only want current discussion; by default it searches all time to find the most. Connecting a Reddit result indexes that individual post and its comments, not the entire subreddit.
  • TikTok — returns the caption, creator, date, and view/like/comment counts.

TikTok and Reddit discovery run a live search that can take a minute or two to come back — Kinn is scraping fresh results, not reading a cached list. It's worth the short wait when you're hunting for content you haven't seen yet.

Tips​

  • Be specific about your product. Discovery works best when the search is clearly about you — your product's name plus what it is. Kinn keeps searches scoped to your product rather than running broad, unrelated queries.
  • Use it before concluding "there's no data." If an answer comes back thin, there may simply be conversation you haven't connected yet — discovery is how you check.
  • Discovery finds; connecting indexes. Results aren't analyzed until you connect them. See Managing sources from chat for that step.
