Managing sources from chat

You don't have to leave the conversation to change what Kinn is listening to. The agent can connect new feedback sources and update your product's own information right from chat — just paste a URL and ask.

Connecting feedback sources

Paste one or more links and ask Kinn to connect them:

  • "Connect this subreddit: reddit.com/r/ourgame"
  • "Start tracking our Steam page and our App Store listing." (with the URLs)
  • "Add these three YouTube videos."

You can connect several at once — pass all the URLs in one message and Kinn handles them together. Supported sources include Reddit, YouTube (a single video, or a whole channel or playlist), Steam, Google Play, the Apple App Store, Instagram, and TikTok. Paste each URL exactly as you have it — for Instagram and TikTok, keep the username in the link.

A few things worth knowing about specific sources:

  • A YouTube channel URL connects every video on the channel, including future uploads; a playlist URL connects just that playlist.
  • A Steam app URL connects its reviews; its discussion forums are an opt-in you can enable afterward from the product's connection settings.
note

Connecting starts indexing in the background and returns right away — the feedback itself lands a few minutes later. If an answer looks empty immediately after connecting, give the sync a moment to catch up.

GitHub and Discord are different

GitHub and Discord can't be connected from a pasted URL. They need a one-time account-level setup first. When you ask to connect either, Kinn will give you the setup link to complete that step — see the GitHub and Discord integration pages.

Updating your product info

Kinn can also update the product's own details from chat:

  • Description"Update our product description to: a co-op survival game for PC and console." A good description helps Kinn frame every answer.
  • Your own website or blog"Index our blog at example.com/blog." Kinn discovers the site's pages from its sitemap and feeds in the background and folds them into what it can search. This is for your own properties; community sources go through connecting a source instead. See the Website integration for details.

Discovering before connecting

Not sure what's out there to connect? Have Kinn discover new content about your product first, then connect the results that look worthwhile.

tip

Connecting sources and updating product info change your setup, so they require edit access (see reading vs. making changes). Reading and analyzing what's already connected does not.
