Read-only

Email brings direct customer messages into Kinn without asking you to replace your help desk or shared inbox. You create a private Kinn address, then add a forwarding rule in the email service you already use.

Kinn reads forwarded email only. It cannot open your inbox, send replies, or change any messages.

What it pulls in

For each message you forward, Kinn reads:

  • The sender, subject, date, and message text
  • The conversation details included in the forwarded message

Email attachments are not imported. Kinn receives only messages sent to the private forwarding address it creates for you.

How to connect

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Add Integration → Email.
  2. Enter the existing address that receives feedback, such as support@example.com.
  3. Select Create forwarding address, then copy the private Kinn address.
  4. In your email provider or help desk, create a rule that forwards the customer messages you want Kinn to analyze to that address.
  5. Send a test message and check the Email area in Kinn.
caution

Keep the Kinn forwarding address private. Anyone who knows it could send messages into this product's feedback data. If it is exposed, open the Email integration and rotate it; the old address stops working immediately.

Access

Kinn does not sign in to your mailbox. Your own forwarding rule controls exactly which messages leave your inbox. Kinn cannot reply, delete, label, or otherwise change mail in your email service.

What you can now ask

  • What support issues came up most often this week?
  • Summarize the most negative customer emails.
  • Which email complaints also appear in our app-store reviews?
  • Are customers asking for the same feature in email and Discord?
