Using Kinn chat

Chat is the main way you work with Kinn. Choose a product, ask a question in plain language, and follow up as you would with a teammate. Kinn keeps the conversation together so later questions can build on earlier answers.

Start a conversation

Select New Chat, type your question, and send it. If you are unsure where to begin, choose one of the suggested questions shown for your product. These suggestions are based on the sources you have connected.

You can ask follow-up questions without repeating all the context:

  1. "What were the most common complaints this month?"
  2. "Which one is growing fastest?"
  3. "Show me the source comments behind that finding."

Start a new chat when you change to an unrelated topic. This keeps the context focused and makes old conversations easier to find.

Find and organize earlier chats

Select Show Chat History to open your conversation list. From there you can:

  • Open an earlier conversation
  • Rename it to something memorable
  • Delete it when you no longer need it

Kinn creates a title after the first answer. Rename important chats with a clear topic and period, such as “June launch feedback,” so they are easy to recognize.

caution

Deleting a conversation cannot be undone.

Reuse questions with saved prompts

Saved prompts are useful for questions you ask repeatedly, such as a weekly feedback summary.

  1. Select Saved Prompts beside the message box.
  2. Select +, give the prompt a short title, and enter the full question.
  3. Save it.
  4. Later, select its title to place the question in the message box. You can adjust it before sending.

Use Edit to change or delete a saved prompt.

Attach a file

Use the attachment control, paste a file, or drag it onto the chat. CSV, Excel, JSON Lines (.jsonl or .ndjson), and text files become data sources for that conversation. Images and PDFs can be attached directly to a message.

Images and PDFs can be up to 10 MB each. Data files can be up to 50 MB each.

Select Show Attachments to see the data files available in the current conversation or remove one. For examples and supported spreadsheet options, see Analyzing your files.

Share a conversation

Select Share, then Create Link. Anyone with that link can view the conversation without editing it.

caution

A shared link is public to anyone who receives it. Review the conversation for customer details, private notes, and attached information before sharing.

To stop access, return to Share and select Remove Link. The old link will no longer open the conversation.

Get a better answer

  • Name the source or time period you care about.
  • Ask Kinn to show supporting examples or links.
  • Follow up when a result is too broad: "Limit that to one-star reviews from the past 30 days."
  • Ask for a chart, a PDF report or data export, or a shorter summary when you need a different format.
